ANNUAL BOOK SALE - TOM GREEN COUNTY FRIENDS OF LIBRARY
Volunteers needed: 20 - 25
Date/Time: March 22, 5 to 9 p.m.; March 23, noon to 6 p.m.; March 24, 5 to 9 p.m.; March 25, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; March 26, 1 to 5 p.m. and March 27, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Details: Wednesday and Thursday, volunteers help unload boxes of books, place books on tables.  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, volunteers will assist customers, restock books, calculate totals before final check-out, assist in carrying out boxes, bags of books for customers and help with other duties as needed.  Training will be provided upon arrival.

LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL GAMES - DISTRICT 4 LITTLE LEAGUE ASSOCIATION

Volunteers are required by San Angelo Independent School District to complete a volunteers in public school application online at http://saisd.org/District/VIPS.asp and be approved before allowed on campus around student. There is no fee for this.

Details: Basic home repairs, painting, trim trees, volunteers with handyman skills can do more. Wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty. Free breakfast for volunteers arriving at City Lumber before 7 a.m.

Details: Serve as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for at-risk children. Become a voice for abused and neglected children who have no one else to speak for them. Details: Looking for volunteers who are good listeners, emphatic and want to make a difference. Trained volunteers will respond to the request of law enforcement to report to the scene of a crime to work with victims/survivors. There is a 36-hour training program and classes are held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Classes start Feb. 13 through March 16. Application and background check required. Details: Texas Ramp Project builds wheel chair ramps for members of the community that are homebound due to ailment, age, injury or other limiting causes. The ramps are surveyed and built from as short as three feet to over 30 feet. If interested in this volunteer opportunity, contact the above listed POC, Tech. Sgt. James Osborn. All tools and safety equipment will be provided.
