Goodfellow opens gates for Community Appreciation Day & Santa’s Market

GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --

The 17th Training Wing will open its gates to the public on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. for Community Appreciation Day and Santa’s Market.

           

This event is free to the public. The community is invited to come on base and witness Goodfellow’s mission in action. Events include an aircraft firefighting demonstration, rappelling, martial arts demonstrations, food, an appearance by Santa Claus and more!

Santa’s Market will also be open at the Louis F. Garland Department of Defense Fire Academy for indoor shopping at local vendors’ craft booths in the spacious high bay!   

  

The personnel at Goodfellow greatly appreciate the local community and are excited to give everyone an opportunity to see the base, learn more about the mission and have fun!

9:30 a.m.         Gates open to the public

10:00 a.m.       Community Appreciation Day & Santa’s Market begins

11:30 a.m.       Aircraft Firefighting Demo

12:15 p.m.       Emergency Management Demo

1:00 p.m.         Santa Arrives

2:00 p.m.         Martial Arts Demo with the U.S. Marine Corps

2:30 p.m.         Rappelling Demo

3:30 p.m.         Military Operations Urban Terrain Demo with the U.S. Army
