GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- By the time the 2007 San Angelo Live Stock Show and Rodeo concludes more than 150 people from each of the four military branches represented on Goodfellow Air Force Base will have volunteered more than 800 hours at the event according to Joe Zapala, Rodeo Association volunteer coordinator.

The volunteers began helping out at Feb. 15. Between 15 to 20 volunteers have worked or are scheduled to work 6-hour shifts during each of the 8 days of the event. Volunteers are given a meal and tickets to the rodeo show.

"The live stock show and rodeo is a big annual event here. It would be difficult for us to have it be the success that it is every year if it weren't for the tremendous support we receive from both civilian and service men and women from Goodfellow," Mr. Zapala commented.

The rodeo and live stock show's final three days are this weekend.
