17th Medical Group wins customer service awards

GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Three offices within the 17th Medical Group won best patient satisfaction at the Ross Clinic, Feb. 10.

The clinic sent a Joint Outpatient Experience Satisfaction Survey to Department of Defense, which rated first against all military medical installations last fall. Ross Clinic received the unexpected awards following the patient survey.

Customers rated the Women’s Health clinic and front desk staff as 100 percent customer satisfaction. When asking the staff how they felt they achieved such rating, they said it was about how they treat the customers.

“Treat others as you want to be treated yourself,” said Megan Blanek, 17th Medical Operations Squadron women’s health nurse practitioner. “Getting to know each individual as a person rather than an appointment, giving them a personal experience rather than a number.”

The Family Health clinic also won their own award for 97.6 percent customer satisfaction.

“I feel like we have a pretty cool group of nurses, providers and technicians who are just nice people,” said Capt. Timothy Peterson, 17th MDOS officer in charge. “The take the time to explain things.”

Competing against more than 50 other Air Force clinics, Ross Clinic came in first place.

“Can we continue to be the high performing team that we are?” said Lt. Col. Kari Stone, 17th Medical Operations Squadron Commander. “I think we can. We just give 100 percent and we hope that our patients are satisfied.”
