The Air Force Intelligence Development Team and Functional Advisory Council visited Goodfellow to review the framework for the intelligence officer career field, April 23.

The Intelligence DT is a group of senior intelligence officers, colonels and general officers, tasked to assign 14Ns, which are intelligence officers, to their duty positions.

The Intelligence FAC is entrusted with preparing senior leaders with a comprehensive understanding of developmental requirements as they pertain to the intelligence career field. They approve key training to prepare the force for future mission requirements.

The Intelligence DT and FAC came to Goodfellow to deliberate a way forward for assigning intelligence officers to positions and forge a template for future intelligence training development.

Goodfellow is the expert for intelligence training, as it is the technical-training center for the Department of Defense and has been training intelligence professionals for over 70 years. The training Goodfellow provides is critical to the intelligence career field.

Members of 17th Training Wing leadership, U.S. Air Force Col. Andres Nazario, 17th TRW commander, and U.S. Air Force Col. Angelina Maguinness, 17th Training Group commander, were key players in the discussion process.

“We’re really excited to host the 14N Intelligence Officer Developmental Team and Functional Advisory Council meetings here at Goodfellow,” said Maguinness, “The future starts here and we were happy to welcome these senior leaders back home to Goodfellow to see all the great things we are doing to develop the force and engage our Airmen in training.”
