Goodfellow to welcome new wing commander

Goodfellow will welcome Col. Kimberlee Joos as the new 17th Training Wing Commander and bid farewell to Col. Mark Damiano during a change of command ceremony May 29, 9 a.m.

Col. Joos served as the 373rd Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group Commander and Commander, Misawa Security Operations Center, Misawa Air Base, Japan.

Col. Joos was commissioned in 1991 through the ROTC program at Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, Mo., where she also received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Col. Joos has served as an Air Force officer for 21 years, with joint duty experience at the Component and Combatant Command levels.

Col. Joos is a master intelligence officer with experience in numerous intelligence disciplines, to include Indications and Warning, Analysis, instructor, flying unit-level Intelligence Support, Theater Airborne Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Operations, National Cryptologic Operations and Collection Management. She has served at all levels of U.S. Air Force operations, including squadron, group and wing, numbered Air Force, Major Command and Intelligence Center collocated with Headquarters, U.S. Air Force.

Col. Damiano will go on to serve at the Pentagon as the Principal Military Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.
