The Goodfellow Air Force Base Child Development Center held its annual Little Olympics Aug. 10.

This year's events included the balance beam, javelin throw, shot put, basketball toss, beanbag toss, 2-yard dash, discus throw and the always-fun hula hoop.

Ceremonies opened up with the children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Each event lasted about 10 minutes. The participants were walked through the different events by volunteers from the CDC, as well as parents and a few volunteers from various organizations on base.

The Little Olympics concluded with refreshing popsicles for all the children to enjoy.
Each child was presented with a gold medal, and each class was given a trophy. In the end, everyone at the Little Olympics was a winner.
