Three members of the 17th Comptroller Squadron took AETC-level honors as Financial Managers of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2007.

1st Lt. Ross Davis, Senior Master Sgt. Edwin Forrest and Senior Airman Latoya Alloway were named winners in the company grade officer, senior noncommissioned officer and Airman categories, respectively.

Lieutenant Davis is the deputy flight commander for financial analysis. According to his commander, Maj. Stephen Cristofori, Lieutenant Davis spearheaded programs earning hundreds of thousands of dollars for wing programs, acquired armor plating for the 17th Security Forces Squadron and acted as the 17th Training Wing's point of contact for the Air Force Assistance Fund. In addition, Lieutenant Davis is the Company Grade Officers' Council president, is actively involved with base sports programs and is a budget officer with the San Angelo AIDS Foundation.

"Lieutenant Davis is a natural leader," said Major Cristofori. "His organizational skills are outstanding!"

Sergeant Forrest is the superintendent of the 17 CPTS. According to Major Cristofori, Sergeant Forrest maintained the squadron's Family Care Plan program, educated and trained 17 CPTS Airmen as well as an Air Force Academy cadet, worked to correct a manning shortfall within the squadron and fostered Air Force heritage by encouraging wing participation in the enlisted dining-in.

"He solves every project or problem without missing a beat," Major Cristofori said.
In addition, Sergeant Forrest coached a local children's baseball team, led judging during the 316th Training Squadron vs. 17th Training Support Squadron Fitness Challenge and went above and beyond to honor a former Airman and his family with dignity during that Airman's funeral.

Senior Airman Latoya Alloway is, in Major Cristofori's words, a standout Airman. Airman Alloway is a quality examination technician with the 17 CPTS, who performed not only her own duties but the duties of an absent co-worker, providing transparent service to customers.

"Airman Alloway is versatile and has a super attitude," Major Cristofori said.
She also trained co-workers on pay-related issues, created a training package on military pay and ensured top-class service to 17 CPTS customers during 50 percent manning. In addition, she is the 17 CPTS Booster Club president, assisted Airmen Against Drunk Driving as a driver and is actively pursuing her bachelor's degree in management.

"These comptrollers work tirelessly to supporting the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and civilian employees of Goodfellow Air Force Base," said Maj. Cristofori. "I'm very proud of them."
