Cory Lelek,a non-appropriated fund employee of the Goodfellow AFB comptroller squadron, was recently named Air Education and Training Command's NAF Financial Analyst of the year.

Mr. Lelek provided oversight and analysis for 17 primary activities and governed revenues of more than $5 million. He completed 100 percent of annual requirements and 80 financial audits with weeks to spare, resulting in timely information and better decision making. Additionally, he uncovered errors in NAF labor reports; his adjustments resulted in the required 100 percent appropriated fund support level.

Mr. Lelek stood up the wing NAF Council Finance Committee, saving time and solidifying relationships within wing units. He also developed and utilized technology to automate cash count procedures, saving more than 40 hours in this process annually.
In addition he created and distributed ORM pocket guides to remind troops of risk mitigation efforts as the squadron's ORM representative.

His sense of volunteerism also attributed to earning the award. Mr. Lelek coached Little League baseball, organized and led a booth for Wing Safety Day, planned luncheons and attended multiple optional training courses to enhance his knowledge of the military.

No stranger to command-level awards, Mr. Lelek was awarded numerous awards for all of his efforts in the past year.
