6/14/2012 - GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  -- 

LAKE NASWORTHY 4TH OF JULY EVENT
Volunteer needed:
As many as possible
Responsibilities: Greet and welcome the guests as they arrive and show them around if needed. Serve food and drinks for about 3 hours. Drive golf carts to pick up guests between Bentwood Country Club and the ASU pavilion. Decorate and remove the decorations at the ASU pavilion. Ensure that the guests are enjoying the event.

Additional info: If possible, I would like to have a volunteer who enjoys these events to manage the entire production. He or she will meet some of the elite from San Angelo and get some great responsibilities.

KEEP SAN ANGELO BEAUTIFUL: GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP
Volunteer needed:
120 to 150
Responsibilities: Help citizens unload debris, trash, furniture from trailers
Date/ time: 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., June 16,

17 FSS YOUTH PROGRAMS: OLYMPIC DAY

Responsibilities: Assist youth ages 3 to 12, participate in 17 events
Date/ time: 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. June 22,

SAN ANGELO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: SHOWDOWN IN SAN ANGELO (DRAG BOAT RACES)
Volunteers needed:

Responsibilities: Ticket/cooler gates, souvenir sales, trash pickup
Date/ time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 22-24,

Additional Info: Volunteers will be allowed to stay and watch the drag boat races on the days they volunteer, considered one of the best in the country. Transportation could possibly be provided for some, but would prefer carpooling.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: APOSTLE BUILD

AREA AGENCY ON AGING: OMBUDSMEN PROGRAM
Volunteers needed:

Responsibilities: Visit and advocate for nursing home residents. Commitment of two hours per week after initial training is required.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF SAN ANGELO: MENTOR OUTREACH TO AT-RISK YOUTH

Responsibilities: Interact with and mentor youth at Northside and Southside facilities
Date/ time: As soon as possible, minimum of one hour per week with at least a 6-month commitment.

SONRISAS THERAPEUTIC RIDING
Volunteers needed:
12 per class
Responsibilities: Side-walkers for riders and horse leaders
Date and time: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday for 1-hr classes at 9, 10 and 11a.m., and 1 p.m.

Additional info: First-time volunteers need to come 20 minutes early for training. Paperwork can be found at www.sonrisasriding.org under the volunteer tab. A donation will be made in each volunteer's name to a Goodfellow benevolent fund.

17 CES/CEAC HOUSING MANAGEMENT OFFICE: SEEKING ON-BASE VOLUNTEER(S)

1 or more
Responsibilities: Assist military members, civilians, and family members with their housing needs. Customer service with minimal clerical duties.
Date/ time: Days and hours are very negotiable.
