8/3/2012 - GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Team Goodfellow, The water level at Lake Nasworthy is extremely low. Individuals should not dive into Lake Nasworthy at this time. Swimmers have been paralyzed or killed diving into shallow bodies of water.

As a safety precaution, the Recreation Camp has suspended the renting of motor-powered boats until conditions improve. Kayaks are the only water craft the Recreation Camp is currently renting. Hazards associated with low water include structures exposed or just hidden beneath the surface, such as rocks, logs and other debris. These can cause severe prop damage and even sink a boat. Tubing and water skiing are dangerous as well due to the potential of hitting objects or the bottom if ejected from the tube or falling from water skis. For more information, contact the Safety Office at (325)654-3894.

For more information about rentals, contact the Rec Camp at (325)944-1012.
