Senior Airman Brandi Giles, a contract administrator with the 17th Contracting Squadron, won a trip to Las Vegas on a radio contest July 31.

"I'd been calling in for about a month and never got through," said Airman Giles, whose persistence paid off that morning, as she was on her way to work.

"I was using my cell phone's handsfree-set when I made the call into KIXY and gave the winning seat on the Fantasy Flight which was 24 I."

The Las Vegas trip was part of KIXY FM 94.7's Fantasy Flight to Las Vegas radio contest. The prize includes round-trip airplane tickets for two to Las Vegas, hotel accommodations for five days and four nights and $1,000.

"It didn't sink in until I'd picked up the tickets and had that check in my hand that this was really happening," said Airman Giles. "Talk about some serious luck," she added with excitement. "I'm planning on going to celebrate my 21st birthday next June. The reservations are good for one year," said Airman Giles.

The winning Airman will not be making the trip to Las Vegas alone though. She will be accompanied by one of her fellow co-workers and friend, Mary Nichols, another 17
CONS contract administrator.

Airman Giles said she and Ms. Nichols had made a pact when they first started calling the radio station at the beginning of June. Both agreed that they would take each other on the trip if one of them won the prize.
