This year's Goodfellow Tax Center is scheduled to officially open the week of January 29. However, there will be significant changes from last year.

The biggest change deals with the actual location of tax preparation volunteers.

In 2006 all volunteers operated out of the Tax Center at the base library, Bldg. 712.

"This year, unit representatives will remain at their respective duty locations and will set aside time to help out the individuals from their units. We will have the centralized location (base library), but this will be primarily for retirees," said Capt. Christopher Baker, this year's Goodfellow Tax Center primary point of contact.

"It will be open through the end of April. The hours at the centralized location will probably be fewer this year because the unit representatives will not operating from there. I imagine probably three hours a day, perhaps three days a week, but that is not definite," Capt. Baker added.

More details regarding the specific hours of operation and list of unit Tax Center representatives will be provided in future articles as they become available.
