17th Training Support Squadron conducts change of command

The 17th Training Support Squadron conducted their change of command at the Event Center Aug. 14.

Lt. Col. Abraham Salomon, 17th TRSS outgoing commander, transferred command of the squadron to Lt. Col. Amber Saldaña, 17th TRSS incoming commander. In a symbolic exchange of authority, Salomon passed the unit guideon to his superior, Col. Thomas Coakley, 17th Training Group commander, who then passed the guideon to Saldaña.


The 17th TRSS thanked Salomon, for his dedication to the squadron. The 17th TRSS then welcomed Lt. Col. Amber Saldaña, the new 17th TRSS commander.

The 17th TRSS’s mission is to fuel the development of world-class, joint and coalition fire protection and international, surveillance and reconnaissance warriors. Leading training operations and faculty development by, guiding resources, planning, providing intelligence systems support and delivering interactive, multimedia instruction.

Their vision is to be the foundation of the 17th TRG by offering innovative technology, educational development and resource management so the 17th TRG may focus on training.
