Chief Master Sergeant Khamillia A. Washington is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 17th Training Wing, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas. She leads the wing’s enlisted force and serves as the principal advisor to the wing commander on all issues concerning morale, health, welfare, training, readiness, effective utilization and career progression of Airmen. She liaises with and provides recommendations to the wing’s group and joint service commanders, key staff members, and senior enlisted in leading more than 5,300 personnel. A joint center of excellence, Goodfellow is the home for the Department of Defense Fire Academy and multi-service intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technical training. The wing is responsible for training more than 14,000 professionals annually for the United States Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force, Coast Guard, and other government agencies and allied nations. In addition to Goodfellow AFB, the wing is home to geographically separated units located in Arizona, California, Florida, and Virginia.
Chief Washington grew up in Queens, New York, and graduated from Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn, New York before entering the Air Force as a Surgical Apprentice in August 1999. She retrained into Communications Systems Operations in August 2003; culminating as an Imagery Analyst in April 2009. She has held a variety of duty positions at the squadron, wing, MAJCOM, HAF, and joint levels. Her assignments include bases in Mississippi, Arizona, Guam, Utah, Texas, Florida, Washington D.C., and New Mexico, as well as multiple contingency deployments supporting Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, ENDURING FREEDOM, INHERANT RESOLVE, JUNIPER SHIELD and OCTAVE SHIELD.
Prior to her current assignment, Chief Washington served as the Chief Enlisted Manager, Headquarters Air Force Special Operations Command Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Directorate.
