This month of celebration, prevention, and awareness is set to spotlight key risk and protective factors including military children's well-being, child abuse prevention, sexual assault prevention and response, alcohol abuse prevention, and financial capability. 

April 1: Official kickoff of April Awareness Month.  Col. Angelina Maguinness, 17th Training Wing commander, signs proclamation in the Public Affairs video studio.  

April 2: City Council Month of the Military Child Proclamation signing at the McNease Convention Center.  

April 9: Teen ‘I Matter’ Event.  Child Youth Programs will host an event focused on teen dating violence, Alcohol Awareness, and wellness. Attendees will be divided into age groups (13-15 years & 16-18 years). A resource table will be available for attendees to utilize. 

April 12: Wing Sports Day.  The SAPR & IRO team will have an information display table and games for Sexual Assault, Alcohol Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Months. 

April 15: Chalk Walk from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Troop Walk at Western Winds Dining Facility.  The SAPR team will be in front on the troop walk between and dinning facility with a tent and chalk provided engaging with members about how they can prevent sexual assault and change the culture in the military. Members will be given the opportunity to write/draw how they can help someone in a potentially dangerous situation. 

April 15-19: Month of the Military Child “Spirit Week.” Goodfellow will celebrate in partnership with the city of San Angelo.

M&FRC- National Financial Capability Month (NFCM) Classes
Spring is here! This is the perfect time to do some spring cleaning in your financial “house”. In support of National Financial Capability Month (NFCM), the Goodfellow M&FRC is partnering with several agencies to provide a wide range of financial education, resources, information, and activities during the month of April.
 

April 1-30:
Goodfellow AFB Commissary Coupon Saver Contest
During the month of April, use coupons at the Goodfellow AFB Commissary to stretch your savings. Submit receipts along with an entry form found at the Commissary or the M&FRC. The top three savers will be presented with a gift card.
 

M&FRC will be open on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the month of April.
