Our Military Presidents
President Dwight D. Eisenhower visited Goodfellow Air Force Base in January 1957 in order to inspect the severe drought conditions West Texas experienced during that time. According to Dr. John Garret, 17th Training Wing Historian, President Eisenhower spent the night at the base and is the only commander in chief to have visited Goodfellow.
