Vertol H-21B Work Horse model dedicated to 17th Training Wing
GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas- A model of the Vertol H-21B Work Horse, built by Marc Stevens of the San Angelo Model Club, is displayed at the Norma Brown Building here. The Vertol H21-B Work Horse was one of two assigned in the early 1960s to the 1110th Balloon Activities Group Detachment 160. The detachment’s mission was to launch, monitor and recover helium-filled polyethylene weather balloons in support of the Atomic Energy Commission program to measure radioactivity in the atmosphere.
