U.S. Air Force Col. Ricky Mills, 17th Training Wing commander, spent his morning at the Meals for the Elderly center, delivering warm meals with other volunteers to San Angelo locals Sept. 27.

"We really appreciate everything the base does," said Becca Edens, Meals for the Elderly marketing and event director. "The base has done a lot for us, and we only hope we pay that back somehow."

Since 2016, Meals for the Elderly has been a member of Meals on Wheels, a national organization supporting the more than 5,000 community-based senior nutrition programs across the country that are dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation. By providing funding, leadership, research, education and advocacy support, Meals on Wheels America empowers its local member programs to strengthen their communities, one senior at a time.
