More than 30 vendors gathered at the Carswell Field House on Goodfellow to inform individuals about the many volunteer opportunities in San Angelo and the surrounding communities April 11.

“This was a way to invite non-profit organizations on base to showcase the different ways that military members can volunteer in the community,” said Goodfellow Airman and Family Readiness Center Work Life Specialist Coordinator, Joe Goodwin. “We also invite on-base organizations to come in and set up to provide information about their various services and what they do.”

In over five years of hosting this event, this year was the largest held so far.

“This is a great opportunity to get a lot of people together to help the community,” said San Angelo YMCA Group Fitness Coordinator, Amber Chirstensen. “Even people who may not know the community can find ways to jump in, it helps everyone!”
