GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --
The 17th Contracting Squadron held their change of command ceremony June 25, at the Event Center.
The 17th CONS welcomed their incoming commander, Maj. Michael Quinn, and thanked Lt. Col. John Travieso, 17th CONS outgoing commander, for his dedication and hard work during his three years at Goodfellow.
The presiding officer, Col. Jason Beck, 17th Mission Support Group commander, spoke on the many accomplishments of Travieso and the 17th CONS.
“Lt. Col. Travieso’s tenure as contracting squadron commander has been nothing short of phenomenal. He has been a champion of moving the wing’s mission forward with a can do attitude and transformed his organization into, literally, the best in Air Education Training Command, twice. During John’s tenure, the squadron won both the MSG unit of the year and AETC small contracting squadron of the year, unprecedentedly two times.”
