GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --

Goodfellow celebrated Retiree Appreciation Day to show support and thank military retirees for their service October 25.

The event opened with remarks from Col. Ricky Mills, 17th Training Wing commander, and retired Col. Kimberlee Joos, Texas Veterans Commission commissioner. Joos, a former 17th TRW commander, spoke on the differences between active duty service and being a retiree.  

The event displayed resources available to military retirees such as clubs, health support and post-retirement job opportunities. Goodfellow provided free food, refreshments, music and a regulation drill display to the participants.
