A night of recognition

Goodfellow Air Force Base celebrates the 26th Annual Awards Ceremony Feb. 1 at the McNeese Convention Center, San Angelo, Texas.

The evening started with a Medallion Ceremony, where every nominee received a medallion to wear for the rest of the ceremony. It was also the first chance for friends and family to see each of the nominees receive a medallion. The evening finished with a banquet, a speech by retired Navy Capt. John Smith, and the announcement of the annual award winners.

Master Sgt. Johnny Baker, 17th Force Support Squadron Readiness NCO, presented Smith with a $200 donation for the San Angelo Christian Academy in Smith’s name, on behalf of the 17th Training Wing as gratitude for attending the ceremony.

The awards went to the following:

Civilian Category II Non-Supervisory of the Year: Mr. Vincent Kennedy, 17th Medical Support Squadron

Civilian Category III Non-Supervisory of the Year: Mr. Sean Carroll, 17th Training Support Squadron

Civilian Category I Supervisory of the Year: Mr. Wacey Cason, 17th Logistics Readiness Squadron

Civilian Category II Supervisory of the Year: Mr. Jason Garcia , 17th Civil Engineer Squadron

Civilian Category III Supervisory of the Year: Mr. Jeffry Wilkins, 17th CES

The Airman of the Year: Staff Sgt. Jacob Letson, 17th CES

Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Natosha Mansker, 17th Medical Operations Squadron

Senior NCO of the Year: Senior Master Sgt. Tarn Sanger, 517th Training Group

First Sergeant of the Year: Master Sergeant Luis Soto, 315th Training Squadron

Junior Military Training Leader of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Michael Beran, 315th TRS
