Two Airmen stationed here were awarded Air Force Commendation Medals Oct. 9, 2019, for their acts of courage in providing first aid to victims of a stabbing at a local nightclub Sept. 12, 2019.

U.S. Air Force Special Agent, Kyle Carter, and Senior Airman Damion Davis, 17th Security Forces Squadron member, provided immediate first aid to the victims before paramedics and law enforcement arrived on the scene. The Airmen proceeded to brief the paramedics of the incident and of the first aid they administered to the victims. Both victims were then transported to a nearby hospital in serious and critical condition where they made their recovery.

The 37-year-old man wanted in connection to the double stabbing was apprehended by the San Angelo Police Department Oct. 4, 2019.
