GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Goodfellow welcomed retirees and those retiring soon to an information fair at the Louis F. Garland Department of Defense High Bay here Nov. 1.
Retired Chief Master Sgt. Ronald Graham, who served 30 years in the Air Force as a signals intelligence analyst, spoke during the event.
“Be there for those young men and women serving on active duty today,” said Graham. “Military retirees have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share, and we don’t want that to go to waste. We have been there, done that, and have the medical records to prove it.”
After the speech, attendees were invited to visit the booths set up by Goodfellow and local organizations. The booths ranged from TRICARE, American Legion, Heroes Gym to Workforce Solutions emphasizing health and wellness for the retirees.
“We are out here showing the younger people that the retirees are still out here, that we are still active, and that we have experience,” said retired Navy Chief Petty Officer Terry Cook. “We try to help as they transition out. If I am able to help someone and they are able to in turn help someone else, I have done my part.”
