GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --

GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Goodfellow hosted the Oktoberfest at Goodfellow celebration at the Powell Event Center Complex from 2-10 p.m., Oct. 16.

Oktoberfest brought German culture to Goodfellow and allowed Airmen and their families to experience German heritage without travelling outside the local area.

The 17th Force Support Squadron organized the event with support from multiple vendors in the local area.

The celebration included live music, German food, rock climbing, and other family-friendly activities.

  • 17th Training Wing Spotlight: Staff Sgt. Megan McCarthy

    Staff Sgt. Megan McCarthy, 17th Healthcare Operations Squadron section chief of women’s health and pediatrics, was selected as the 17th Training Wing Spotlight, November 30. She was recognized for the performance of her duties in the women’s health and pediatric clinics.

    Goodfellow members who did not go home for the Thanksgiving holiday were invited to join base leadership for lunch at the Western Winds Dining Facility, here, Nov. 25.

    Students who attend the linguist course at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center at the Presidio of Monterey, California, have a very different experience than other Airmen going through technical training. At DLIFLC, most students are there over a year and can end up staying there up to three years depending on their course.
