Team Goodfellow hosts 4th of July Celebration Published July 2, 2013 By Airman 1st Class Breonna Veal 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Team Goodfellow hosts a 4th of July celebration at the Recreational Camp 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 4th. Members of Goodfellow and the San Angelo community are invited to participate in events such as face painting, watermelon eating contests, volleyball tournament, food and beverages, live bands and more. Goodfellow is providing free transportation from 2 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Crossroads on base to the Rec Camp. Another opportunity for fun this 4th of July weekend is the 26th San Angelo Symphony Pops Concert hosted by the San Angelo community at 7 p.m. July 3 at the Bill Aylor Sr. Memorial RiverStage, 16 E. Avenue A. The gates open at noon, and the Community Band will begin to play at 7 p.m., followed by the San Angelo Symphony at 8:30 p.m. The Pops Concert features military pageantry including the men and women of Goodfellow Air Force Base, symphonic songs of celebration and a fireworks extravaganza.
