The Air Force along with Goodfellow has increased measures to inform its members of their role in eliminating sexual assaults, as well as taking steps to create a zero tolerance culture.

"One sexual assault is one too many," said Gen. Edward Rice, Air Education and Training Command Commander. "We can't change the past; we can only change the future and we can start right now."

Goodfellow takes an active stand against sexual assault, recently using multiple training courses where wing leadership stressed to Team Goodfellow the importance of awareness and the role it plays in prevention.

The Air Force has also instituted an electronic messaging system to raise awareness. At Goodfellow, pop-up messages can be seen throughout base computer desktops relaying a message relating to Sexual Assault Prevention and Response.

"Each one of us has an opportunity and a duty to stamp this scourge of sexual assault out of our Air Force," said Rice. "The most effective and simplest way to do this is to have respect for our fellow Airmen, to demand it of each other and of ourselves."

Goodfellow's Sexual Assault Response Coordinator office and SARC victim advocate volunteers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They can be contacted by calling 325-654-1570.
