"They performed throughout the year at a level of sustained excellence," said Col. Mark T. Damiano, 17th Training Wing Commander. "In an organization that exists to defend the nation, serve justice, protect the integrity of the Air Force, and find truth, they stood out and have set the bar high for 2013." Congratulations to the OSI team for their accomplishments which include: - Number 1 Productive Small Detachment in four Field Investigations Region; 25 felony allegations with three agents; doubled Fields Investigations Region cases per agent average of three - Secured $400,000 from the wing group for new facility renovation; combined space for Detachment/Security Forces Investigations - enhanced joint productivity - Deployed one of four agents in support of Operation Enduring freedom; authored over 170 Individual Incident Reports and Suspicious Activity Reports - enhanced success of over 500 daily flights - Led joint counterterrorism operations; identified and exploited over 30 Afghans with Taliban ties - protected 25,000 personnel from 20 NATO nations - Expertly ran four counterintelligence investigations and published three IIRs; disproved three espionage allegations and identified four Foreign Intelligence and Security Services/CT threats - Huge base and community impact; consistently involved in Boy Scouts, Big Brother/Sister Program, church safety teams and Emergency Food Program - Mentored over 40 youth, fed over 500 needy people and boosted morale for hundreds These are a few of the accomplishments Detachment 408 achieved during 2012 and will continue provide security and protection that keeps team Goodfellow safe on a daily basis.
