Col. Mark Damiano, 17th Training Wing commander, signed the proclamation to kick off Air Force Assistance Fund in the Norma Brown Building here, Feb. 26.

The AFAF at Goodfellow is scheduled to last six weeks, officially starting March 4 and lasting until April 12.

Col. Damiano and Chief Master Sgt. Scott Lumpkin were the first to sign an Air Force Form 2561, AFAF pledge sheet, and donate to one of the charities.

The AFAF features four different charities specializing in helping AF members and their spouses.

The goal this year is for the base to raise $66,937, with the requirement of 100 percent contact.

If you would like to donate to the AFAF contact your unit project manager.
