Details: Retrieve bleachers and plywood from storage at ASU, set up bleachers and plywood around the tennis courts; breakdown and return materials to ASU storage. Heavy lifting involved, gloves will be provided. Transportation can be provided but will need to know ASAP so that van can be reserved.

Big Brothers Big Sisters San Angelo - 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk
Volunteers needed: 60 volunteers

GIRL SCOUTS OF CENTRAL TEXAS - Race on the River/Centennial on the Concho
Volunteers needed: 10 to 15

Details: Need volunteers from 9 a.m. to noon for loading and setting up canoes, tables, etc., from noon to 3 p.m. for the race, and in particular, helping racers into the boats, and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. for tear down. Transportation can possibly be provided. Hot dogs and cookies provided for the volunteers.

Details: Mark the course for the run, assist with registration, pass out water, direct runners along the course, fill helium balloons, set up chairs, stage, and sound equipment, help serve lunch. Lunch provided to all volunteers.

AREA AGENCY ON AGING: OMBUDSMEN PROGRAM
Volunteers needed: 26
Responsibilities: Visit and advocate for nursing home residents. Provide information to residents and family about rights, procedures, and additional resources in and out of the facility. Commitment of two hours per week after initial training is required.

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF SAN ANGELO: MENTOR OUTREACH TO AT-RISK YOUTH

SONRISAS THERAPEUTIC RIDING

Responsibilities: Side-walkers for riders and horse leaders

UPWARD FLAG FOOTBALL AND CHEERLEADING

Date/Time: Season begins Aug. 20. Games begin September 15. Training is to be announced.

HELPING HANDS- HOME REPAIR PROJECT FOR LOW-INCOME ELDERLY HOMEOWNERS

Volunteers needed: 30 volunteers each day
Date/Time: Friday-Sunday, Nov. 2-4, 8 am to 6:30 pm, duty times will vary depending on task.

Details: Staff/students are all welcome to assist. Unload supplies, show equipment, and kennels; serve as greeters, clean up aisles and show ring, assist exhibitors, load up and tear down, and many other duties. Contact POC for further information. Transportation cannot be provided; possibly students could share a taxi. After tasks are completed, volunteers are welcome to stay for the show for free.
