CFC to kick-off Sept. 1 Published Aug. 28, 2012 17th Training Wing GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Combined Federal Campaign, world's largest annual workplace charity campaign, is scheduled to kick-off on Sept. 1 and will last through Oct. 31. CFC is one of two major programs the Air Force supports each year; the other is the Air Force Assistance program, which is usually held in the spring. The AFAF specifically supports Air Force aid programs such as the Air Force Aid Society and the Gen. and Mrs. LeMay Foundation, while CFC supports thousands of local, national and international approved non-profit charity foundations. Some of the CFC charities include the Meals on Wheels Association of America, the Global Children's Foundation and the American Urological Association Foundation, Inc. Last year Goodfellow raised $164,801. This year's goal is to raise $168,150. Donations can be made either as a one-time action or a monthly donation of as little as $5 per month using a payroll deduction form, which unit CFC representatives will provide upon request. "CFC is a versatile campaign that gives contributors control of where their money will go. Contributors can choose to have their donation go to one organization or have specific amounts go to several different ones," said 1st Lt. Andrew O'Kane, Program Leader for the 17th Training Wing's CFC campaign. Contributors have the option of leaving their donations undesignated, in which case the funds will be given to organizations on an as-needed or emergency basis.
