GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 65th Annual Air Force Ball is set for Friday, Sept. 14 at the McNease Convention Center. Social Hour will begin at 6 p.m., and dinner will start at 7 p.m. Tickets will be sold from Aug. 6 - Aug. 29, and can be purchased through squadron ticket representatives.
This year's guest speaker is Tech. Sgt. Israel Del Toro. Toro is a Tactical Air Control Party operator and was injured in Afghanistan in 2005 by an IED which burned over 80 percent of his body. He then became the first 100 percent disabled Airman to re-enlist in the Air Force on Feb. 8, 2010. His work has helped change many of the outdated policies for wounded Airmen, and he also received the first field promotion in the Air Force.
