AIR FORCE BALL COMMITTEE - Childcare during Air Force Ball
Volunteers needed: 12 to15, mix of certified and non-certified volunteers
Date/Time: Sept. 14, 5:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Details: Provide childcare for children from newborn to 12 years old while parents are attending Ball.

HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION OF SAN ANGELO: ASSISTANCE FOR MCMILLAN FAMILY
Volunteer needed: 10 to 20
Responsibilities: Assist in home building tasks.
Date/ time: Ongoing, nights and weekends.
Location: POC will provide.

Additional Info: Patrick McMillan works for the Sheriff's Dept and is a volunteer firefighter. He used all of his leave and time off last year fighting the wild fires. Donations of household items are also being accepted.

FAITH IN ACTION OF SAN ANGELO: LAWN MAINTENANCE ASSISTANCE
Volunteer needed: 1 or 2 per assignment
Responsibilities: Mow lawns of the frail/elderly.
Date/ time: At the convenience of the volunteer.

AREA AGENCY ON AGING: OMBUDSMEN PROGRAM
Volunteers needed: 26
Responsibilities: Visit and advocate for nursing home residents. Commitment of two hours per week after initial training is required.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF SAN ANGELO: MENTOR OUTREACH TO AT-RISK YOUTH
Volunteers needed: 50
Responsibilities: Interact with and mentor youth at Northside and Southside facilities
Date/ time: As soon as possible, minimum of one hour per week with at least a 6-month commitment.

SONRISAS THERAPEUTIC RIDING
Volunteers needed: 12 per class
Responsibilities: Side-walkers for riders and horse leaders
Date and time: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday for 1-hr classes at 9, 10 and 11a.m., and 1 p.m.

Additional info: First-time volunteers need to come 20 minutes early for training. Paperwork can be found at www.sonrisasriding.org under the volunteer tab. A donation will be made in each volunteer's name to a Goodfellow benevolent fund.

RAILROAD MUSEUM OF SAN ANGELO
Volunteers needed: 8
Responsibilities: Various clean-up/support projects

PETSMART ANIMAL SHELTER: CRITTER SHACK
Volunteers needed: 10 to 20 volunteers per day
Responsibilities:Walk/play with dogs and/or cats; provide social interaction; ensure animals have food and water.
Date/ time: Aug. 18-19, 10 a.m. -6 p.m.

Additional Info: Staff/students are all welcome to assist. Food and drinks provided to volunteers. No need to stay all day - can work in shifts. Transportation cannot be provided, however, trolley should be available.

TOM GREEN COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM: COMPUTER CLASS
Volunteers needed: 3
Responsibilities: Teach class participants with little or no computer experience
Date/Time: One day of the month, day and time flexible, ongoing with first class in August 2012

Volunteers needed: Choreographer
Responsibilities: Teach children ages 3 to 5 how to dance for spring recital for dance
Date/ time: Two hours a week, September 2012 through May 2013, flexible day/time

Details:Take shut-in to buy groceries, or get grocery list and money from shut-in and buy groceries for the individual. Deliver to individual's home and assist with putting groceries away.

GENTIVA HOSPICE FOUNDATION- First Step 4 Kids Children's Bereavement Camp
Volunteers needed: 8 to 12 volunteers
Date/Time: Tuesday, Aug. 14, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Location: Johnson Street Church of Christ Lake House, Willow Drive, Lake Nasworthy, (turn left off Knickerbocker onto Willow Drive, second building on left.) Training will be held at 402 N. Bryant.

Details: Accompany child who has lost a loved one throughout the day to provide friendship and support. Assist with grief projects or fun activities. Meals and t-shirts provided to volunteers. Transportation cannot be provided

UPWARD FLAG FOOTBALL AND CHEERLEADING
Volunteers needed: 20 to 25
Date/Time: Season begins August 20. Games begin September 15. Training is to be announced.
Location: Kirby Park in the vicinity of 29th Street and Edmond Boulevard

Details: Need coaches, referees, announcer, "minute to win it" facilitator, sound person to run music, MC, and other duties. Will also accept donations for "minute to win it," opening pep rally, and end of season ceremony.
