Bus service for Fourth of July event at Rec Camp Published July 2, 2012 GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas- -- The 17th Force Support Squadron will provide bus service to the Goodfellow Recreation Camp on July 4th. Round-trip bus passes to the Rec Camp are available at the Community Center (Event Center/Bldg. 723) for $2. Buses will depart from the Community Center (Event Center) beginning at Noon, July 4, every hour on the hour until 8 p.m. Buses will depart the Rec Camp parking lot beginning at 12:30 p.m. every hour on the half hour until 7:30 p.m. Immediately following the fireworks, busses will provide transportation to ticket holders from the Rec Camp back to the Community Center (Event Center) on base. There will be lots of activities at the Rec Camp, including three local variety bands which will begin playing at 1 p.m. Bands are "Cold Shot," "Those Guys,"and "Reload." A DJ will also be on hand playing popular tunes in between band performances. The fireworks show will kick off at dusk. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase, including brisket sandwiches, snow cones, and soft drinks. The Fourth of July event is open to valid ID card holders and sponsored guests. Boats and kayaks will be available for rental. Sand volley ball, tennis, and basketball courts, and horseshoe pit will also be available.
