"Reuse" is an important part of the Pollution Prevention (P2) hierarchy. The life cycle of many items can be extended by reapplication for different purposes or sharing. The following tips are provided to help reduce the overall volume of materials entering our waste stream.
  • Consider making a trip to Goodfellow's DRMO (Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office), Building 443, a mandatory part of your office's purchase approval process.
  • File folders and three-ring binders can be used year-after-year by printing new label stickers and replacing coversheets.
  • Copy paper boxes, coffee cans and cookie tins make excellent storage bins.
  • Evaluate if your flights or squadrons can share assets like vehicles and tools instead of buying new ones.
  • Some supply vendors may collect unused products and shipping materials, like pallets.
  • Others might even offer discounts towards your next purchase in exchange for these "turn-ins."
