March pollution prevention tips: reducing vehicle waste

GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- --  The following vehicle waste Pollution Prevention tips can help cut back on vehicle air emissions and reduce the likelihood of spills of petroleum, oils and lubricants:

· Ensure your vehicle is regularly serviced.

· Return anti-freeze and used oil to an authorized disposal service, such as that offered at the Base Auto Hobby Shop

· Improve fuel mileage by keeping tires properly inflated and cleaning out heavy unused items in your trunk.

· Windshield sunshades can reduce your car's A/C load and make your vehicle interior more comfortable in those hot summer months.

· You and your coworkers can cut back on driving stress by starting an office carpool.

· Consider combining all your daily or weekly errands into one trip.
