The event provides parents the opportunity to teach their children what mom or dad go through during the deployment process, easing anxiety and fears the children might have when they learn their parent will deploy. It will also show the children and their family the support Goodfellow Team has in place and available when deployments occur.

Registration is limited to first 90 children and runs March 19-31 in the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Registration times are Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-6 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 a.m. - 1p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Call (325) 654-3893 for an appointment.

Children of Goodfellow active duty or retirees and area Guard and Reserve units are eligible to attend. Children must be 5-17 and must be accompanied by an adult.

The day of the event children will be issued deployment gear and various items to help them through their deployment. They will get to sign up at the "Recruiting Station," located in the Airman and Family Readiness Center. The child will be required to take photo for deployed Common Access Card, given their oath of enlistment and be provided "orders."
