If there is a decrease for your specific grade and dependency status, you are automatically grandfathered. If you have an increase, it will automatically update to the higher rate. All BAH rates can be found at: http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/perdiem/bah.html 2012 BAS Rates Officers: $239.96 Enlisted: $348.44 2012 Payroll Tax FICA-Social Security tax reduction, from the traditional 6.2% to 4.2%, has been extended until Feb. 28. This rate is reflected under the "Deductions" heading on your Leave and Earnings Statement. Thrift Savings Plan Contributions TSP Contribution Limits changes: The elective deferral limit for 2012 is $17,000. The total tax deferred and tax exempt limit is $50,000. The limit on catch up contributions is $5,500.
