GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas—Staff Sgt. Janice Vaughan, 17th Comptroller Squadron Reports and Analysis NCOIC, received a Diamond Sharp Award from the Goodfellow First Sergeant’s Dec. 1 in the headquarters building. Vaughan is the first Team Goodfellow member to receive the award since the First Sergeant’s Council, here, decided to reinitiate the program at Goodfellow. The award is not offered on a specific time frame, such as quarterly or yearly. Instead, the award is given only when the First Sergeants recognize an outstanding service member for his or her professionalism, impeccable appearance and “can do" attitude. Master Sgt. Chad Madore, 316th Training Squadron First Sergeant, said the recipients are chosen because they distinguish themselves as Goodfellow’s best by striving for excellence both on and off duty, in the community and their personal lives; and doing what is right by the American people without regard to personal gain or the cost of sacrifice.
