Officer promotion board announced

The first active promotion board for 2012 is the Colonel Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate General Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Line of the Air Force, and Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate General Corps Central Selection Boards are scheduled for March 5 at the Air Force Personnel Center.

PROMOTION ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
  • Have an extended active duty date of Sept. 7, 2011, or earlier with a date of separation of June 3, 2012, or later.
  • Officers on active duty under the Voluntary Recall Program or any other Reserve Recall Program must have at least one year on active duty as of the board convening date, starting from their new EAD date.
  • Service dates must be verified by the Air Force Personnel Center's Accession Confirmation and Service Verification section.
FOR COLONEL LAF-J:
  • Above-the-Promotion Zone: date of rank Oct. 31, 2007, or earlier with a previous nonselection.
  • In-the-Promotion Zone IPZ: date of rank Nov. 1, 2007, to July 31, 2008.
  • Below-the-Promotion Zone (one year): date of rank Aug.1, 2008, to May 31, 2009.
  • Below-the-Promotion Zone (two year): date of rank June 1, 2009, to April 30, 2010.
FOR LIEUTENANT COLONEL LAF:

  • Above-the-Promotion Zone: date of rank, June 30, 2007 or earlier with a previous nonselection.
  • In-the-Promotion Zone: date of rank, July 1, 2007, to July 31, 2008.
  • Below-the-Promotion Zone (one year): date of rank, Aug. 1, 2008, to Aug. 31, 2009.
  • Below-the-Promotion Zone (two year): date of rank, Sept. 1, 2009, to Sept. 30, 2010.
FOR LIEUTENANT COLONEL LAF-J:

  • Above-the-Promotion Zone: date of rank Aug. 31, 2007, or earlier with a previous
  • nonselection.
  • In-the-Promotion Zone: date of rank Sept. 1, 2007 to July 31, 2008.
  • Below-the-Promotion Zone (one year): date of rank Aug. 1, 2008, to July 31, 2009.
  • Below-the-Promotion Zone (two year): date of rank Aug. 1, 2009, to April 30, 2010.
