CFC extended to Nov. 9

The Combined Federal Campaign has been extended to Nov. 9 to allow Team Goodfellow members who haven't donated to do so.

CFC is one of two programs the Air Force supports each year; the other is the Air Force Assistance program, which is usually held in the spring. The AFAF specifically supports Air Force programs such as the Air Force Aid Society and the Gen. and Mrs. LeMay Foundation, while CFC supports thousands of local, national and international approved non-profit charity foundations. Some of the CFC charities include the Meals on Wheels Association of America, the Global Children's Foundation and the American Urological Association Foundation, Inc.

Last year Goodfellow raised $210,508 exceeding the base goal of $167,518 by about 20 percent. This year's goal is to raise $168,150.

Donations can be made either as a one-time action or a monthly donation of as little as $5 per month using a payroll deduction form, which unit CFC representatives can provide.

This year, organizers have added a new incentive to donate. If a contributor gives $150 or more, they will receive a CFC 50th anniversary coin.

"We want contributors to know their donations are appreciated," Brian Brown, the 17th Mission Support Group deputy and this year's organizer for base CFC events said. "The coin is our way of saying thanks."
