SAISD back-to-school convocation set for Aug. 16 Published Aug. 10, 2011 SAN ANGELO, Texas -- Team Goodfellow members are cordially invited to attend the San Angelo Independent School District's annual back-to-school convocation at 9 a.m. Aug. 16 in the Foster Communications Coliseum. Section C in the coliseum has been reserved for Goodfellow members. The event welcomes the district's employees to the new school year and provides an atmosphere of celebration for past accomplishments as well as inspiration for the future. Combined Central High School and Lake View High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachments will provide the Color Guard, and the combined high school bands and orchestras will present patriotic music. SAISD graduate Logan Wright will perform special music. Keynote speaker and performer Scott MacIntyre is a finalist from season eight of American Idol. A Marshall and Fulbright Scholar, he was the first blind finalist in the Idol competition. MacIntyre's contagious spirit of optimism and heartfelt stories take his audience on an emotional journey of love and yearning, hardship and hope, from someone who deeply understands the challenge of overcoming enormous adversity.
