Wildcat fire update Published April 15, 2011 GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Grape Creek area affected by the fire is approximately 20 miles north of the base. At present, there is no indication at this time that the fire will affect the base. However, the base and surrounding area have been and will continue to be affected this evening by smoke created by the Wildcat Fire. Additionally, all personnel whose homes or families may be affected by the fire have been accounted for and plans for their safe evacuation are being addressed should it become necessary.
