Undefeated 315th TRS Rattlers take base soccer championship Published Nov. 15, 2010 By Johnny Bustos 17th Force Support Squadron GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 315th Training Squadron Rattlers completed a perfect season this year defeating the 316th Training Squadron Sharks in the championship game, 3-0. The Rattlers came to the championship 6 and 0 after being undefeated during regular season through the double elimination tournament. In their first game of the tournament, the Rattlers downed the 17th Mission Support Group Junk Yard Dogs, 3-1. The Sharks started off with wins against the 17th Training Support Squadron Tigers, 7-0, and Army, 1-0. After a long road, they finally got to round four of the tournament where they met the Rattlers. In their only regular season meeting, the Rattlers had downed the Sharks, 2-0. Round four of the tournament didn't go much differently as they defeated the Sharks again, 1-0, sending the Sharks to the loser's bracket and game 11 against the Junk Yard Dogs, who were on a two-game winning streak defeating Navy/Marine 7-2 and Army 2-1. In game 11, the Sharks used a relentless offense scoring four goals to the Junk Yard Dogs' one, eliminating the Junk Yard Dogs and winning a trip to the championship game against the Rattlers. In the championship game, the Rattlers set the pace by scoring in the 10th minute of the first period and ending the first period in favor of the Rattles one zip. In the second period, the Sharks didn't help their cause when they scored a goal on their own goal, giving the Rattlers a 2-0 advantage. The Rattlers added a third goal at the 20 minute mark of the second period coasting to an undefeated season and the championship.
