Operation KIDS is Nov. 13 from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. and provides youths the opportunity to experience what mom or dad go through during the deployment process.

This program helps ease anxiety and fears youths may have when their parent's deploy. The youths become new recruits and are recalled for duty, processed through the mobility line and are issued their military gear. They also receive a mission brief before deploying to a classified Forward Operating Base, or FOB.

Youths, ages 5-17, of active duty and area Guard and Reserve of all services are invited. Each youth must be accompanied by an adult or designated caregiver who will be responsible for him during the entire event.

Due to safety concerns, children ages 4 and younger will not be allowed on the bus or at the "deployed" locations, but are encouraged to attend the "Welcome Home" party for our retuning warriors.

Register for an appointment at www.FamilySupportGoodfellow.org or call (325) 654-3893. Once an appointment time is established, the new recruit must report to Airman and Family Readiness Center's "recruiting station" in building 145 for an Oath of Enlistment and official photo.
