Goodfellow NCO awarded Outstanding Paralegal of the Year Award Published May 7, 2010 By 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 2nd Air Force's 2009 Outstanding Paralegal Airman of the Year was recently awarded to one of the 17th Training Wing's very own. Tech. Sgt. Thomas Hamilton, 17th TRW Judge Advocate General Law noncommissioned officer-in-charge, received the 2009 2nd Air Force Paralegal award. Sergeant Hamilton is currently deployed to Afghanistan as the International Security Assistance Force Headquarters Legal Advisor NCOIC. He is the only NCO working with joint and coalition attorneys supporting ISAF and the commander of the United States Forces Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal. "Sergeant Hamilton is the best paralegal I've ever served with, of any service," said Army Col. Richard Gross, who is the personal legal advisor to General McChrystal. The award honors retired Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Steve Swigonski, the first Special Assistant for Legal Airman Affairs to The Judge Advocate General, U.S. Air Force. The Air Force annual winner is the active-duty airman selected as the most outstanding paralegal of the year, based upon demonstrated superior initiative, technical skill, leadership ability and devotion to duty. Eligible candidates are paralegals who are serving in the grade of technical sergeants and below.
