Members benefit from revised AAFES online coupon policy Published May 19, 2010 By Army & Air Force Exchange Service Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- With the click of a mouse, saving at the base exchange just got easier thanks to the Army and Air Force Exchange Service's recently revised coupon policy. With the growing interest in electronic coupons, Goodfellow's BX can now accept manufacturer online coupons. "Frankly, the economy has spurred increased interest in electronic coupons," said Pat Tinker, Goodellow BX general manager. "It is estimated that coupons offer $12.7 billion in savings and industry projections show online offers account for 8.7 percent of all coupons sent out this year. These indicators confirmed that it was necessary for us to find a way to let Goodfellow shoppers take advantage of these savings while making purchases at the BX." Manufacturer coupons can be found on company websites and many online discount portals. To redeem a manufacturer coupon at the BX, AAFES requires the coupon to have a bar code, expiration date, redemption address, usage policy and a stated face value printed on the coupon. In most instances, the BX's new coupon policy even allows for one manufacturer's coupon to be combined with an AAFES-issued coupon for the same item. "Unless either offer specifically prohibits a combined discount, coupons available through AAFES' Mobile Marketing service or sale fliers can be combined with the manufacturer's," Tinker said. By accepting online coupons, base exchanges are keeping with their 115 year old tradition of saving Airmen and their family money. "Some things just get better with age," she said. "With accepting online coupons, combined with tax-free shopping, AAFES is helping ensure the exchange benefits at Goodfellow continue." To sign up for Mobile Marketing, go to www. AAFES.com/mobile.
