Four from wing graduate NCO Academy

Four Goodfellow members graduated from the Robert D. Gaylor Noncommissioned Officers Academy at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, recently with Class 10-4. They are: Tech. Sgts. Charles Coleman (Distinguished Graduate recipient), 312th Training Squadron; Dwight Mills (Distinguished Graduate and Academic Achievement Award recipient), 17th Security Forces Squadron; Gerardo Esquivel, 17th Force Support Squadron; and Lina Webb, 316th Training Squadron.

The NCO Academy is a 6 week course designed for Air Force technical sergeants and technical sergeant selectees. The NCO Academy covers Air Force history, the Air Force organization and mission, the military justice system, professional skills, customs and courtesies, leadership and management, the substance abuse program, counseling techniques, human behavior, and orientation of newly assigned personnel. The course also includes formal and informal group leadership, management theory, personnel management, problem-solving techniques, the supervisor's role in effective communication, and effective writing in the Air Force. NCO Academy completion is required before assuming the grade of Master Sgt.
