You Are Responsible, sponsoring visitors to Goodfellow Published March 23, 2010 By Dave Kerry 17th Security Forces Squadron GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- In an effort to improve safety at the entry control points here, there will be a reduced number of visitor passes issued and less time required to get on base because of the recently implemented changes to visitor entry. Escorted visitors will no longer require passes written at the entry control point or Visitor Control Center. Visitors without authorized government identification cards or passes must be physically sponsored and escorted at all times while on base. The authorized sponsor must be at least 16 years of age and must be present at the VCC or entry control point to allow entry. They will verbally vouch for the visitors and escort them at all times while on base, to include entering and exiting the gate. All visitors 18 years of age or older must possess a federal or state issued photo identification card while on base or they will not be allowed entry. The sponsor is responsible for all visitors while on base. Sponsors found to have violated escort procedures may be subject to legal or administrative action. To speed up base entry, 17th Security Forces personnel will not require all vehicle occupants to present identification. One person per vehicle may present an authorized identification card to vouch for up to five occupants. For multiple vehicles, a person in each one must possess authorized base entry credentials to vouch for its' occupants. All occupants of commercial transport vehicles, e.g. taxis, Red Ball, etc, will present identification prior to being allowed entry. Security Forces reserve the right to ask any and all personnel to present identification at any time. Hundred percent identity card checks will not be advertised. Furthermore, active duty military, retirees and dependents with authorized military issued identification credentials in their possession may enter the installation with government and non-commercial vehicles, non-commercial trailers, motor homes and rental vehicles without processing through the vehicle search area.
